I attached the HTPC to my RCA Scenium HDLP50151 via a DVD-I cable to the TV’s DVI-HDCP connection. Audio was connected by coax to the Denon AVR-3801.

Ok, so I didn’t bother to connect it to an LCD because I was able to boot and view the installation screens as shown below.

Below you can see a closer picture of the unit side by side to the reciever. Also I have my XBOX and PS2 in the cabinet all wired up and tucked away.

I ran a USB extension out the side where the PS2 is, so that I could plug in a USB floppy to install the Raid driver required to install XP on a SATA boot drive.

In the middle is the USB receiver for the KB and mouse.

This gives you a picture of the entire wall unit along withe the 3 front NHT speakers. Unit was custom made for this TV.

Another front view. What I want you to notice is that this space is very tight and does not venillate well. What I did was use a second Pabst 80mm fan and simply tape it with double sided foam tape to the back left side of the case to promote hot air moving out of the back of this area. I’ve highlighted it below using a flashlight.

The welcome screen… before video is corrected.

There is a good article on this at HTPCNews.com Powerstrip 101 How to use it to Connect your PC to your HDTV

Okay, now Powerstrip timings. Essentially I have 2 custom resolutions that I use to correct overscan.

First thing I had to do was have powerstrip generate a custom display driver so as to "unlock" the 640×480 limitation in XP.

PowerStrip timing parameters:
1792×1028=1792,136,32,184,1028,8,21,49,71394,13

Generic timing details for 1792×1028:
HFP=136 HSW=32 HBP=184 kHz=33 VFP=8 VSW=21 VBP=49 Hz=30

Linux modeline parameters:
"1792×1028" 71.394 1792 1928 1960 2144 1028 1036 1057 1106 interlace +hsync -vsync

PowerStrip timing parameters:
960×514=960,80,16,96,514,2,12,22,38051,5

Generic timing details for 960×514:
HFP=80 HSW=16 HBP=96 kHz=33 VFP=2 VSW=12 VBP=22 Hz=60

Linux modeline parameters:
"960×514" 38.051 960 1040 1056 1152 514 516 528 550 +hsync -vsync

Below you can see 1792×1028 mode displaying as I install SP2.
